hello may

Hello warmer weather.  I’ve been waiting for you.  Hello organizing.  Hello writing deadlines.  I need you in my life and thanks to someone special I have them.  Hello little things in my life.  I’m going take real good care of you.  I know God has something big planned for my life, just not quite sure what it is yet.  Start small.  Hello hard work.  Looking forward to knowing you better.

Great things are going to happen, May.

Hello, home.  I’ve been in this house for weeks and weeks but this month I’m going to change you into a home.  Hello, 28.  I’m excited to start another year.  Let’s do something amazing with this one.  Hello springtime.  I’m so ready to work out in the garden and to grow something I can eat.

April, you’re my favorite.

Listen, March.  Your neighbor February was really tough on me this year.  I’m simultaneously relieved and excited to see you this morning.  Hello.  Hello longer days.  Hello cooking and posting again.  Hello settling into my new city, my new home and my new routine.  Hello writing.  I’ve missed you so.  I know we might have a rough go of it at first, but I’m confident with hard work something great is gonna happen.  Hello morning quiet time.  Let’s get serious and commit.  Hello notebooks and ideas and planning.  Hello new friends I’m about to make.  Give me a second chance because I’m shy.  You won’t regret it.

March, you’re one of my favorite months.  Don’t disappoint.

Hello February

I have to be honest with you, February.  Even though you contain Valentine’s day (one of my favorites), typically you’re not my favorite month.  But this time is going to be different.  I’m in my new town with fresh snow on the ground.  Hello, new German house that far far exceeded my expectations.  Can’t wait to move in this month.  Hello, downtown living.  I’ve never been a city girl before.  Straight from the suburbs born and raised.  Hello, warm coats, hats, scarves and mittens.  Before you were just cute accessories.  Now you’re cute and doing a good job of keeping me warm.  Hello, Paris.  I’m going to eat all your pastries this weekend.  Hello, Europe.  I’m so glad we’re back together.  Let’s make the most of it.

Happy New Year

Hello, new year.  I’m so excited to finally meet you.  While your predecessor was a big year with a lot of changes, I’ve been looking forward to you for months.  Hello, moving to Germany.  Hello, weeks of family time.  Hello, end of my schoolwork.  It feels so good to start something and finish it.  You’re getting done before the big move.  Hello, suitcases and travel sized products.  Hello, international house hunting.  Hello, soon-to-be-my-very-own iPhone.  I can’t wait to buy you.  Hello, next big chapter in my life.  I’m going to write down more of your details.  And take more pictures to remember you by.  2012, some great things are about to happen.

Hello, big changes, again and always.  Hello, packers and movers.  Goodbye adorable apartment I’ve spent so much time in these past few months.  You’ve been so good to me.  Hello, family.  We’re going to be living with you nomad style for the next 6 weeks.  Let’s blame it on the holidays and not the move.  December is good for that.  Hello, big push on schoolwork.  I’m going to finish you before I move to Germany.  You’ve been warned.  Hello, Christmas music.  You’re my favorite.  I think I’ll even blast you at the gym.

We have a lot of things to get done, December.

Hello, November

Hello, new wheels! Even though I only get to have my own car for about a month, I still feel a 16 year old’s kinda freedom at being able to drive.  And because you’re a minivan and I don’t have children I also feel 16.  Hello, schoolwork.  Let’s not fall behind with each other just because I have a car.  Hello, changing leaves.  I love you.  Hello, cooler weather.  Thanks for taking it easy on me and easing me into the chill by warming up to the 60′s in the afternoon.  I appreciate it.  Hello, art journal.  Let’s be friends again.  Hello, warm treats.  I can’t wait to bake you.  We’re going to have a fun month together.  Hello, apartment complex gym.  I’m gonna have to hit you hard because of how many delicious things I’m going to be making.

November, I’m so excited.

March is for self-discipline: using my calendar, a 5k, school work, cutting back on sugar, finishing work strong.  March is for celebrating my father's 60th year.  It's for big change, big laughs, and big adventure.  March is for friendships.  March is for love.  It's for shamrocks and concerts and green journals.  March is for setting and keeping priorities straight.  It's for prayer and earnest hope.

March is for me.
