Do I still journal? Why yes, I do.

29 Oct

I just wanted to share a few of my recent art journal pages with y’all. I went through a dry spell for a while but have really found a lot of inspiration from flickr.  I just found Anna Denise through flickr and think her work is AMAZING.  I hope one day my pages can be as beautiful as hers.

This Sunday it poured down rain all day.  Usually I love rainy days but I had my heart set on a run outdoors this day.  I stayed in and sipped tea instead.

Lots of different lists of different things I love.  This page was one inspired from Janel’s iheartfall art journal class.  I only did a few of her prompts and really need to catch up.  I really love her pages too.

Another iheartfall class inspired page.  I cut this picture of a tree out of my Joyce Meyer magazine (her magazines have such beautiful pages in addition to meaningful articles).  The quote at the top of the page (also from the magazine) reads, “We all want to be able to look back at the previous year and say, ‘I’ve improved.  I’m more patient.  I’m more giving.  I’m less selfish.’  If we have the Word in us, we can do that.”

Janel at Run with Scissors is about to start the process of adopting a child.  To help fund the process she’s offering a 30 day journal class for only $10 a day.  10 bucks!  Outrageously good price.  You can sign up on her Etsy shop.  I already have.  Please head over there to check out the details and see the great sample pages she has pictured on her blog.  The class starts July 26.

I’ve been falling behind on my art journaling after Rachel and Elsie’s great class.  I’m excited to have more prompts and to see another style of art journaling.

A new season

29 Apr

I’m taking Rachel and Elsie’s art journal class online. It started on Monday and everyday I find myself refreshing my browser waiting for the new prompt and page update.

The first page prompt was “a new season” in a phrase. There was a lot more to it than that but that was the gist. Here is my page:

I used water colors, markers and pen. I’m really happy with how it came out. I can’t wait to share more pages with y’all as the class continues.

Tell Your Story

Sign-ups start April first for this 6-week class. I can’t wait to sign up. I’ve taken craft classes in the past from these ladies and have been so inspired. The class has something posted on t he blog 7 days a week for 6-weeks. The cost is $60 which is a steal if you ask me.

Spaces for their classes always go fast. I’m signing up first thing April first. It’s going to be one of the gifts I give myself for my birthday. And maybe one of you if you’re lucky.

Just a quick blog tonight. I wanted to send a thank you out to Corey Marie for giving me her “I LOVE YOU” printable mini album kit. I just downloaded it and it’s super cute. I can’t wait to print it out tomorrow.

Lately I’ve been trying to observe more textures and patterns in every day life. I took this picture when I went to Venice last weekend in a church. It’s a section of the floor there. Maybe good inspiration for an art journal page? Goodnight my loves.

art journal love: pretty

I have been being inspired by a new blog Dirty Footprints Studio. Here is her latest video on art journaling which is something that I’m starting to get into to stretch out and try my artistic hand. If you check her youtube account KitchenOfTheSoul you can find a lot of other journaling videos and other fun stuff.

I hope you find something today to make you smile.
